Celebration in the square around the fire with tasty tastes of tradition – since 1976
Old Town
The event resumes the ancient custom of lighting a large straw in the main square of the village, which will burn up to Epiphany.
The rite dates back to 274 AD, when the Emperor Aurelian decided that the Sun was celebrated on 25 December, then the fire. From this fact the tradition of the Christmas tree was born, a piece of wood, preferably of oak, which burned for 12 days in all the houses. From how it was burning, it was assumed that the year went on.
Today, the event offers everyone the opportunity to exchange wishes and spend an evening in cheerful company.

Program:
Every night the meeting is in the square to taste what is offered by the various associations and companies from the village, all cooked in large grilles.
The typical menu of the Forlives hills includes various soups, grilled meat, bread and sangiovese at will, free assortments of sausage, bacon, chestnut, polenta, beans with cotiche, chickpeas, sweet and vin brulé. Each edition of the “zoo” features a commemorative cup called “tazzotto”, not to be missed!
